During this exam, we will test your visual acuity, field of vision (peripheral vision), ocular pressure, map your cornea and refractive error. We have the latest technology including retinal cameras to evaluate the health of your eyes and track progress of ocular and systematic diseases as well as catch these diseases at an early stage. Similar to glasses, contact lenses can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. SOFT LENSES are made of gel-like, water containing plastics, they are slightly larger than the colored part of your eye. RIGID LENSES also known as RGP or "rigid gas permeable lenses" are made from a hard, waterless material. Theses are great for correcting vision for those with high astigmatism. SPECIALTY/HYBRID LENSES allows correction for high astigmatism and even those with keratoconus with the comfort of soft contact lenses. We also offer SynergEyes (Duette & Duette Multifocal). In certain instances (high astigmatism, keratoconus), SynergEyes can offer the best of both worlds. The soft skirt offers all day comfort while the "breathable" rigid center keeps eyes healthy while providing crisp, clear vision. How We Fit You For Contact Lenses Dr.Choe, Dr.Ahmed, Dr.Tran and Dr.Herscovici can fit patients with contact lenses during the routine eye exam. To better fit patients with contact lenses, a corneal topography is done. This maps out the shape of your cornea to allow the doctor to allow for a better fit of the contact lenses. For all patient who wish to wear contact lenses, whether they are new to contact lenses are not, are put though this fitting process. This allows for the highest degree of comfort and clarity. Along with this fitting procedure, trial lenses plus any additional follow-ups for 45 days after are included. For new patients, insertion and removal training is given as well as a lesson on how to clean and care for your new contact lenses.
